Organization: Dolia
Project: Centre for children's rights
Location: Uzhgorod, Ukraine
Target group: Street children, Children who are victims of abuse and exploitation

Children from at-risk families spend a large part of their spare time on the streets. The project provides a safe space in a child-friendly center where street children can engage in games and educational activities without the risk of exploitation. The NGO Dolia –founded by orphanage graduates – works with police, social services and the city council in order to improve the children’s home and school situation. The center focuses on informing the children about their rights and advocating for children’s rights. The Dolia also works by pairing children in vulnerable situations with older mentors, university students, who serve as positive role models.
