United Nations NGO DPI
World Childhood Foundation is accredited by the United Nations Department of Public Information (DPI) as an Non-governmental Organization (NGO). Childhood USA’s application was accepted in 2015 and the organization must reapply every year to keep this prestigious status.
Currently, there are 1,300 NGOs around the world that enjoy this status.
Childhood USA works with the United Nations to:
- facilitate the exchange of research and publications with the UN and NGOs;
- educate the public and our projects UN initiatives and campaigns, contributing solutions where possible;
- collaborate on initiatives such as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including SDG 16.2;
- develop partnerships with civil society and UN funds, programs, and specialized agencies.

In 2015, Childhood USA co-organized a High-Level meeting during the United Nations General Assembly titled “Children and the Sustainable Development Goals: Giving Every Child a Chance.” World leaders from governments, the UN, the private sector and academia attended the meeting.
