About The Care Coin

Many children who are experiencing child sexual abuse and/or exploitation do not know where to turn to for help and/or are afraid to come forward. With the Care Coin program, Childhood USA provides children with a discreet tool that they can give to responsible adults to begin the conversation.

A Child Has Given You The Care Coin, Here Are The Next Steps:

By a child giving you this coin, they are signaling to you that they would like to discuss something that is concerning them. As an adult, it is your responsibility to help keep this child safe. You can find the best course of action for the child in this situation by heading to the resources below.

Before heading to the list of resources below, please remember to do the following if you have not already done so:

  1. Thank the child for entrusting you with the Care Coin and wanting to have a conversation.
  2. If a child would like to discuss something that is concerning them, please find a safe space to have this conversation.
  3. You may let the child know you are accessing these resources. However, if they or someone they know is in danger, it is your duty as an adult to find the best course of action to ensure safety for that child

The list of resources and helplines are trusted by the World Childhood Foundation USA and will help you determine the best course of action for the child who has handed you the Care Coin. If you have any questions, please contact: [email protected]
