Dan Flanigan

Dan Flanigan is Chairman of the 190-lawyer Real Estate & Financial Services Department, and Managing Partner of the New York City office, of Polsinelli, an Am Law Global 100 firm of 800 lawyers with offices in 20 cities across the U.S. Polsinelli is a leading national law firm in several areas including nonprofit organizations, healthcare, real estate, financial services, and intellectual property.
Mr. Flanigan is named in the current and recent editions of the publications Best Lawyers in America (including “Lawyer of the Year” in various categories several years in a row), Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers, and The Legal 500 United States.
Mr. Flanigan is the author of The Criminal Law of Slavery and Freedom, 1800-1868 (Garland Press, 1975) and a co-author of The Devil’s Dictionary of Bankruptcy Terms for Commercial Lenders (Peppercorn Press 2007, 2012) and of The Polsinelli Guide to Real Estate Mezzanine Finance (Peppercorn Press 2008).
He holds a Ph.D. in History from Rice University and J.D. from the University of Houston. He taught at the University of Houston and the University of Virginia before entering the active practice of law.
He and his spouse Candace (deceased) founded and developed Sierra Tucson, a leading international addiction treatment center in Tucson, Arizona.
