19 October, 2017 – Several news outlets, including New York Times’ Sunday Styles, covered our annual ThankYou gala, were a host of philanthropists, UN leaders, CEOs and celebrities gathered at Cipriani 25, Broadway, to enjoy an evening in the presence of HMQ Silvia and HRH Princess Madeleine. It was an opportunity for Childhood USA to not only highlight the importance of our work to end violence, sexual abuse and exploitation of children, but also to raise funds in support of our many projects. Apart from New York Times, media coverage included Avenue Magazine, the Daily Mail, Hello! Magazine and Paris Match among others.

22 September 2016, PEOPLE – HRH Princess Madeleine spoke to People Magazine last Friday (Sept 16) to express her dedication to ending child sexual abuse and exploitation. The interview features the recent launch of Childhood USA’s mobile app, Stewards of Children Prevention Toolkit, developed in partnership with Darkness to Light and Ericsson. This app, revealed last Friday at a high-level meeting at the UN in the presence of HRH Princess Madeleine, aims to empower adults with the tools to recognize, prevent, and respond to child sexual abuse. 11 December 2015, Skavlan – HRH Princess Madeleine of Sweden, Co-Founder of ThankYou by Childhood, and her husband Chris O’Neill sat down on Scandinavia’s largest talk show, hosted by Fredrik Skavlan. 07 December 2015, BUNTE – BUNTE’s article focused on Princess Madeleine her #EyesWideOpen social media initiative, including quotes from Dr. Joanna Rubinstein, President and CEO of Childhood USA, and actress Rosario Dawson. The quotes were taken from the West Harlem Holiday Party where Dr. Joanna Rubinstein, Karini Gustafson-Teixeira, Co-Founder of ThankYou by Childhood, Rosario Dawson and chef Marcus Samuelsson launched #EyesWideOpen in Harlem.
06 December 2015, Daily Mail – Rosario Dawson and Marcus Samuelsson were highlighted in Daily Mail for attending the West Harlem Holiday Party on behalf of Childhood USA and handing out the ThankYou Youth Art Awards to local children.
07 October 2015, CNN – HM Queen Silvia of Sweden visited New York on behalf of her non-profit, World Childhood Foundation USA, and spoke about her country’s role in the current refugee crisis. Moments after she spoke at Childhood USA’s co-hosted High-Level Panel at the United Nations, Her Majesty was interviewed by CNN International’s Robyn Curnow to discuss the refugee crisis in Europe and how Childhood and Sweden were responding.
30 September 2015, EcoWatch – EcoWatch hosted an interview with Per Heggenes, IKEA Foundation’s CEO who received a ‘Childhood ThankYou Award” for his outstanding commitment to changing the lives of millions of children for the better. Heggenes outlines how IKEA’s business practices to protect children now and in the future.

26 September 2015, UNTV – Childhood USA co-hosted a High-Level UN event where Childhood founder, HM Queen Silvia of Sweden, gave a keynote address. The “Children and the Sustainable Development Goals: Giving Every Child a Chance” meeting gathered world leaders from governments, the UN, the private sector and academia to discuss the opportunities the new sustainability agenda presented to protect children.
16 January 2015, Glamour – Sweden’s HRH Princess Madeleine was interviewed by Glamour Magazine which was published in their January 2015 issue. The article tells the story of how Princess Madeleine became inspired to follow in her mother’s footsteps, work with Childhood and fight to protect children.
27 September 2014, MSNBC – MSNBC’s Ronan Farrow speaks with Tiesto at the Global Citizen Festival 2014. Tiesto tells Farrow that HM Queen Silvia of Sweden and HRH Princess Madeleine’s work with World Childhood Foundation has inspired him to get involved with the Global Citizen Festival. He also states how important it is to work together to give children a better future.
27 September 2014, MSNBC – HM Queen Silvia and HRH Princess Madeleine of Sweden addressed 60,000 at the Global Citizen Festival to talk about the World Childhood Foundation. Queen Silvia urged all to protect children from sexual abuse and exploitation in their lives.
26 June 2014, MSNBC – Award-winning photographer, Thomas Prior, shares highlights from the Thank You Festival. World Childhood Foundation and Global Citizen held the Thank You Festival at the Merriweather Post Pavilion on June 26, featuring Tiesto, Above & Beyond, Krewella, Alvin Risk and Cedric Gervais in recognition of the American public’s efforts to help children around the world, and to call for further action on behalf of the world’s children.
